Welcome to the June newsletter – beginning of the new academic session!  Freesia in no time kick started with all the activities planned for the month. K5 children looked refreshed after the month long break.  Teacher and staff too were energized after that much needed break.  With the feedback from the feeder schools, ABC schools have a modified curriculum to match the need of the feeder schools.  KUDOS!!! to Mrs. Selvi Joseph and Meher who have worked very hard to make these changes.  Children will now have lot more worksheets, Math activity books and writing practice to enable them to compete as they enter other schools.  Also, Freesia had visitors, who shared their love and fortune with the kids.

Academics are of utmost priority with our schools.  These are some of the activities that were conducted for the June month in detail.  VIVA SCIENCE is an enquiry based learning in a fun way.  Children learnt “All about Me, Family, Friends, Home and my Neighborhood”.  Our K5 children explored the topics “Let’s Be Friends, Let’s do Things Together and Learning to give”

FUN WITH MATH is a very resourceful area that kids learn to love math and appreciate math.  This month we engaged the kids into learning patterns.  A lot of pattern activities were done with the children. Learning the native language “Kannada” Nutrition and Hygiene are well taken care at Freesia.  Here are some pictures that help to realize that ABC schools not just provide quality education but also a well balanced nutritious meal too! Freesia had visitors and volunteers in June.  Visitors from “Harmony” gave the entire year’s supplies and stationeries and also agreed to help with the monthly groceries. Thanks to Harmony for the generous donations that they made and also thanks to Reena, Ravina and Rachita for volunteering with us.  Special Thanks to the staff that supports Freesia at our Implementation Partner, Building Blocks, and also to all Infrastructure Funding Partners, AlphaBet Club donors and volunteers, Rotary Club Amsterdam International and Wilde Ganzen.
