Edelweiss School March 2016 Newsletter Update
In the month of March, Edelweiss has seen a lot of progress in academics to complete and revise their curriculum portions. K5 Children also went through a final assessment in March to assess their learning outcome from the entire year.
Parents meeting was conducted for the After School Program parents and for the seven newly sponsored kids. This year again, the sponsored children along with the previously sponsored children (ASP) will attend the Ankita School in the GD Mara slum neighborhood. In this meeting they were informed about the fee structure for Ankita School and the parents contribution towards the fee payment.
Holi the ‘Festival of Colors’ was celebrated in school with children and their parents all participating with a lot of joy. Needless to say, children were very happy to wear different colors on this day of celebration!!

Physical Education
Children are encouraged to play in our outdoor- roof top playground. Every day, 15 minutes of physical activity is included in the schedule. This month too, children played outdoors whenever weather permitted.

Well balanced nutritious meals were prepared and served every day. Children were served with breakfast and lunch on all working days. A total of 4,724 meals were served to our children at Edelweiss.
After School Program (ASP)
With a total of 36 students of grades 1, 2, 3 and 4 the ASP program is going very well. This program helps the students in the evening with their homework which they bring back from their respective schools. This program is a supportive program which assists our previous graduates to keep up with their school work. This month the program ran for 19 days with a total attendance of 551 children. ABC provides evening snacks in the ASP program.
