This being the last month of the school year 2015-16, teachers took lot of effort in reviewing all the subjects taught to the children over this year.  Children also had the final assessments done by the curriculum heads at Gardenia School on April 12th.  New parents for the next academic year 2016-17 had an orientation program on April 19th.  We are also proud to mention that we will have a good increase in student strength to 61 children for 2016-17 academic year and for the first time since we opened this school in July 2015 we will have all three levels, K3, K4 and K5 in the next academic year!

Prime focus for the month was in reviewing all the aspects learned throughout the year in all subjects.

In Math, both K3 and K4 students practiced on all the key words learned so far.  This included practicing writing numbers, odd and even number concepts and counting multiples of numbers by 5’s, 10’s and 100’s

In English they reviewed segmenting and blending, short and long vowel sounds, CVC words, tricky words and high frequency words that have been learned from the beginning of the year.

In Viva Science, Children learned about “Ocean” through books and classroom activities.  ‘Maggie’s Trip to the Ocean’ was read to them and various activities related to the topic like story board pieces, center activities were conducted.  An atmosphere chart was created by the children with the help of their teacher

Physical Education

Children are encouraged to play in our outdoor play ground.  Every day, 15 minutes of physical activity is included in the schedule.

Nutrition

Well balanced nutritious meals were prepared and served every day.  Children were served with breakfast and lunch on all working days. A total of 1,142 meals were served this month.

Special Celebrations

Birthdays are special for everyone.  Children express great joy in celebrating their birthdays with their friends! Here is a picture from the birthday celebrations from the April month.
